AUCTIONLINE is a platform managed by the National Chamber of Judicial Officers of Belgium (hereinafter referred to as CNHB), with its registered office at Avenue Henri Jaspar 93, 1060 Saint-Gilles, Belgium. It allows you to sell or buy movable property online, in complete security and under the supervision of the judicial officer responsible for organising and managing the sale.
The use of the AUCTIONLINE platform involves the processing of personal data. Any natural or legal person wishing to participate in an online public sale must first register with AUCTIONLINE, which will collect the identification data of the potential buyer for this purpose. AUCTIONLINE will also collect data relating to the sale, including personal data. These data are, in addition to the identification data of the persons actually participating in the public sale, the amount of each bid made and the data concerning the payments made.
The CNHB attaches great importance to respecting your privacy and your personal data. In this respect, the CNHB ensures the best level of protection for your personal data in accordance with the Belgian law of 31 July 2018 and the applicable European regulations, in particular the European General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, hereinafter "GDPR").
You will find in this policy details of how personal data is collected, how and what CNHB processes and stores your data, to whom it may be transmitted and, most importantly, what your rights are and how you can exercise them.
Who processes your data?
The personal data collected is recorded and processed by the CNHB. The CNHB, represented by its management committee, therefore acts as the controller of the data processed on the AUCTIONLINE platform, within the framework of legal articles 1511 and 1526 of the Judicial Code and the Royal Decree determining the modalities of electronic judicial public sale of movable goods, pursuant to articles 1516, 1522 and 1526 of the Judicial Code.
The CNHB also has a DPO, who can be contacted via the e-mail address: info-dpo@nkgb-cnhb.be. This is the person to contact if you have any questions about the processing of your data or the exercise of your rights.

This privacy statement was drawn up on 26/11/2021 and may be amended at any time. You will not be informed of changes in advance, but you will always find the latest version on this page.
What data is processed?
This concerns the personal data that you share with the CNHB when you use the AUCTIONLINE online auction platform, when you call our helpdesk or when you submit a complaint to the latter, and/or because you communicate them when filling in the contact form. This also applies to personal data provided when creating or activating your account. CNHB also collects and processes data when you browse the website of the AUCTIONLINE platform (cookies).
The compulsory or optional nature of the data is indicated at the time of collection by an asterisk (*). Some data are collected automatically as a result of your actions on the site.
Examples of collected data:
- Identification data: surname, first name, residence, date of birth, gender, auction history, sales consulted and site navigation data, ECB/VAT number, company headquarters, etc.;
- Contact data (postal address, mobile or fixed telephone number, e-mail address);
- Bank details (account number);
- copy of identity document (Eid, driving licence, passport) in encrypted form.
For what purpose is your data processed?
AUCTIONLINE processes your personal data because they are necessary to achieve the purposes defined in articles 1511 and 1526 of the Judicial Code. AUCTIONLINE will not use your personal data for commercial purposes, nor will it transfer them to third parties who would use your data for such commercial purposes.
Therefore, your data is processed for the following purposes:
- Identification of the registering user via password/user name.
- To manage your auctions and to provide you with the services you have requested, such as the preparation of the won lots and the collection at one of the collection points, ...
- Send you information:
- Following a sale or as part of its follow-up (confirmations, information on the time of collection, etc.);
- To keep you informed of new products and to send you information about interesting products. You can at any time oppose the sending of commercial e-mails, by modifying your preferences in your account that you will find in the My Account section of the AUCTIONLINE platform or by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our e-mails. - The creation and management of your account. These data will be used to facilitate navigation on the website and your online auctions by filling in your personal data beforehand.
- Conducting research. We may use your data in an anonymous way to generate statistics and reports about the use of our services.
How long will my data be kept?
Identifying information about prospective buyers is kept for a minimum of 12 months from the time of registration or participation in a sale. Subject to your explicit consent, and without prejudice to the data retention period in the event of a sale, data may be retained for a maximum of 5 years. This consent can be withdrawn by the data subject at any time.
- Data relating to sales are kept for a maximum of 6 months, starting from the date of closure of the sale.
- Data subjects who have not made an offer or who have not made an offer for at least 6 months may request the deletion of their data at any time.
Is my data shared with third parties or a subcontractor?
Apart from the manager of the AUCTIONLINE platform (the CNHB), the bailiff (or candidate bailiff) supervising the sale, or the employee he/she designates, the data are not transferred to any other recipient. CNHB may share your personal data with third parties in order to outsource services. These may be partners who provide services on our behalf and at our express request. For example, IT development, IT support and maintenance.
We ensure that these third parties handle your personal data in a secure manner.
What rights do I have with regard to my personal data?
With regard to the processing of your personal data on the AUCTIONLINE platform, you have the possibility to exercise the following rights

What does the National Chamber of Judicial Officers do about security?
The CNHB undertakes to take technical and organisational measures to protect the information and personal data collected. The aim is to protect your data against unintentional or unauthorised destruction, loss or modification. These measures involve, among other things, the use of a firewall and limiting access to personal data to persons authorised to do so (i.e. the data controller and the bailiff (or candidate bailiff) supervising the sale, or the employee appointed by them).
